Liquid washing products and popular personal care products often make use of paper labels whereas high-end products normally prefer film-type materials these days. This is because popular personal care and household liquid wash products have a bigger market share and therefore, are more commonly tagged with paper materials.
Self-adhesive labels made of synthetic materials such as PE, PP, and PVC are widely used in the film industry. These materials mainly come in three forms; white, matt, and transparent. However, due to the low printability of film materials, corona treatment or a surface coating is required to increase printability. In addition, directional, one-way stretching or biaxial stretching techniques are often applied to prevent the materials from deforming or tearing during printing and labeling processes. For instance, BOPP material is commonly biaxially stretched to ensure its durability and stability.
